Duo Mundo Brings Enhanced Musical Expression to Weston The Sundays On The Hill Concert Series committee is so delighted to have Duo Mundo perform in the Old Parish Church (144 Main Street—Route 100) in Weston, VT at 4:00pm on July 13, 2025. Cellist Rebecca Hartka and twice grammy-nominated guitarist and composer José Lezcana have been praised by American Record Guide for their collaboration: “Hartka and Lezcano play off against each other in a subtle but effective unit of rubato relationships that brings of the sonatas with a personality that catches the ears and hold them.” (D.Moore, American Record Guide). The Duo has performed together since 2014 nationally and internationally. Cuban-American guitarist and composer Dr. José Lezcano has performed hundreds of concerts for over 30 years on four continents to enthusiastic audiences. For his Guitar Concerto, which he recorded with North-South Consonance and conductor/director Max Lifchitz on the CD, “Remembrances / Recuerdos,” he received two nominations and was semi-finalist for Grammys in the categories “Best Contemporary Composition” and “Best Soloist with Orchestra.” Cellist Dr. Rebecca Hartka has concertized for over a decade in venues throughout the United States with international appearances in Cuba, Italy, Vietnam and Thailand. In 2017 she produced and released her third album on her label (Becsta records) Colors Couleurs Colores Cores with Guitarist José Lezcano and pianist Barbara Lysakowski. Admission is only $10 for adults. Children 12 and under may attend at no charge.
